Knowledge transfer is one of the core components of this Initiative. NISE partnered with 5 Business Support Organizations (BSOs) to deliver the green business model training module. 8 training workshops were delivered by the BSOs whose mentors recently became SwitchMed-certified. By signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), the BSOs showed their willingness to cooperate under the umbrella of NISE. BSOs that delivered the training workshops and became part of NISE are the following: Athar, CEDARE, CULTIV, IceAlex & Intersection.
Green and blue entrepreneurs from Cairo, Alexandria, Upper Egypt (Minya, Qena, Fayoum, Aswan & Luxor), Delta (Dakahlia, Kafr El-Sheikh, Qaliyobeya, Sharkeya & Menoufia) and the Red Sea (North Sinai, South Sinai, Ismailia & Port Said) seized the opportunity and applied to take part in the free-of-charge training workshops. Out of 464 applicants, 148 entrepreneurs (65 females and 83 males) attended the workshops to turn their green/blue business ideas into sustainable projects that are both environmentally-friendly and profitable. Each training workshop was carried out in five sessions over a period of four to six weeks. Entrepreneurs with the most promising ideas were selected to benefit from a six-month incubation phase that should end in December 2023.
