Following our meeting with Alexandria’s and Delta’s sustainable entrepreneurs, here come the green innovators from Cairo and the Red Sea.

Representatives from Cedare – Centre for Environment & Development for the Arab Region & Europe and MedWaves met with Intersection’s team and incubated green entrepreneurs to oversee how NISE incubation program is progressing.

The green finalists showcased the #development of their startups, highlighted their aptitude and underlined their #environmental and social added values. Discussions also tackled the obstacles faced by green entrepreneurs and shed light on feasible solutions. The incubated startups represented many sectors, including sustainable waste management and resource efficiency, sustainable furniture, #renewable_energy and #energy_efficiency, sustainable building and construction, sustainable cleaning products and cosmetics, and the #entrepreneurs came from Cairo, Qalyoubia and Ismailia.

NISE activities come as part of Egypt’s SwitchMed Down the Nile Project to support #Sustainable#Economy & Green & Blue #Entrepreneurship. The Project is implemented in #Egypt by Cedare – Centre for Environment & Development for the Arab Region & Europe, MedWaves, وزارة البيئة المصرية – Ministry of Environment, and is part of SwitchMed; the EU-funded programme.
